Football  World  governing  Body FIFA  is  set  to  conduct  on- site  inspection of  facilities  in  Jamaica  this  week.

This  as  part  of  the  joint  bid  involving  Jamaica alongside the United States, Mexico and Costa Rica to host the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup  finals. 

The FIFA  delegation  members  will  be  in  the  island   on  Thursday  and  Friday  before heading to Costa Rica and Mexico to complete the visits of the quartet of Concacaf nations.

These evaluations are done by FIFA to put together a report on the preparation and analyse facilities ahead of a prospective 2031 tournament in Concacaf. 

FIFA will announce if the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica are successful in their bid to host the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup at the FIFA congress in Vancouver, Canada on April 30, 2026. 

The 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup will be the first Women’s World Cup to feature 48 countries as it will expand from 32. 

If successful, jamaica would become the first caribbean country to co-host a senior FIFA World Cup tournament. 

Jamaica would also become the smallest nation in terms of population to host a FIFA Women’s World Cup.
