One man has been charged in connection with the seizure of three parcels containing a white powdery substance resembling cocaine, during an operation along the Tower Isle main road, in St. Mary, on Friday.
He is 48-year-old Jermaine Malcolm of Bogue Village, Montego Bay, St. James.
Malcolm has been charged with possession and dealing in cocaine.
Reports are that police acting on information intercepted and searched two motor vehicles.
During the search of a white Toyota Corolla Fielder, the parcels were found behind the front passenger seat on the floor.
Nothing illegal was found in the second vehicle.
However, over $600,000 was seized after the occupants could not give a reasonable account of the funds.
The vehicles were transported to the police station for processing, and two men were taken into custody in relation to the seizures.
Malcolm was charged and his court date is being arranged.
The other man remains in custody.
