Mayor of Savanna-la-mar Danree Delancy has called on the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) to move with alacrity in repairing several defective streetlamps in Westmoreland.

Speaking at today’s monthly meeting of the Westmoreland Municipal Corporation, Mayor Delancy expressed concern that criminals use the cover of darkness to target residents.

He said this is usually heightened during the holiday period.

He added that the local government ministry should receive a list of communities that require the installation of new streetlamps by tomorrow.
