The government is being urged to invest more funds into the development of Jamaica’s human capital.
The appeal was made by Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of the West Indies, Professor Densil Williams.
He was speaking yesterday at the thirteenth annual Marcus Garvey lecture at the St. Ann Parish Library, in St. Ann’s Bay.
Noting that access to education continues to be a challenge, Professor Williams said greater investment in human capital will help eliminate this problem.
He pointed out that just over two hundred thousand people in the labour force are certified to work in the field they are employed in.
