Police probing suspected drowning of teen in Alligator Pond

The Manchester police are probing a suspected case of drowning involving a teenager at Alligator Pond in the parish, on Easter Monday.

Police have named the deceased as 17-year-old high school student Nathaniel Thompson. 

Reports are that at about 10:30 AM, Thompson went to an area known as Sea Riv with relatives, got into difficulty while swimming and drowned. His body was retrieved from the water and taken to the morgue.

This is the second suspected case of drowning in Manchester in the past week.

Last Thursday, another teenager died reportedly after getting into difficulty while swimming in a pool in Ingleside in Mandeville.

The teen was identified as 16-year-old Zackery Bryan, a resident of Hatfield in Manchester.
