Acting Chief Education Officer, Dr. Kasan Troupe is encouraging parents to report concerns regarding their children’s placement in secondary schools to the Education Ministry’s regional offices.
This follows reports that some Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examination awardees were placed in schools extremely far away from home.
In one reported case, a St Ann student was placed in a school in St. Thomas.
In response to these claims, Dr Troupe said the Ministry, through its regional offices, are open to addressing these sort of issues.
Meantime, Dr Troupe said this year, more parents are comfortable with their child’s secondary school placements when compared to previous years.
