The Jamaica Teachers Association, (JTA), says government has begun the process to rectify issues with teachers’ salaries.
President Lasonja Harrison gave the update while speaking to Irie Fm news on Monday morning.
There have been a number of issues with the salaries of teachers arising from the new compensation system.
Some of them include: inaccurate calculation of salaries, retroactive monies not paid and more.
According to Mrs Harrison, the corrective process began following a meeting with the ministry of education on Friday.
She said she hopes that the process can be completed by August.
In the meantime, Mrs Harrison said the association will now write to the ministries of finance and education in relation to other major issues.
