Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson says while some Jamaicans have expressed distrust with the officers assigned to their respective communities, surveys conducted by the J-C-F have proven otherwise.

He made the statement during yesterday’s (October 29), Lasco/J-C-F Saluting our Heroes and Chairman’s Award Ceremony, when 155 police officers were awarded, for their contribution to nation building.

The Commissioner said several of the awardees were chosen because of their interactions with residents of the communities they serve in.

He said while some people have indicated that they do not trust the police, they are usually referring to a few members of the force, and not the majority.
