20 arrested for traffic violations under Operation Transportation Streamline, since Jan. 8

Twenty persons have been arrested for traffic violations under Operation Transportation Streamline, since this year’s roll-out on Monday, January 8.

The operation which was launched in 2023, aims to make roadways safer by improving driver behaviour and addressing instances of disregard for the law.

Hundreds of tickets were issued on the first day of the initiative in October last year, following which several suspected extortionists were also arrested.

Noting this year’s roll-out, Head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, P-STEB, Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary Mckenzie said more extortionists will be targeted.

He advised motorists against the use of tints that are too dark and warned those with unpaid traffic tickets or outstanding traffic warrants to get their house in order.
