19 killed in road crashes since the start of the year
The number of people killed in road crashes in Jamaica since the start of the year, has increased to 19.
This following a fatal crash in Darlingston, Westmoreland, on Friday morning.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
In light of the number of crashes so far this year, the road safety unit is urging road users to be vigilant.
Director of the Unit, Deidrie Hudson-Sinclair, is calling on all road users to have a change of behaviour when traversing the roadways.
She is also reminding road users to wear the necessary protective clothing and increase their vigilance at nights and during adverse weather conditions.
