Principal of the Yallahs High School in St. Thomas, Mark Malabver, has been declared president-elect designate of the Jamaica Teachers Association  (JTA).

This follows an election held last week.

Over 11,000 votes were cast in the election.

Of the 7 candidates, Mr. Malabver secured the highest number of votes, 3,123.

He will be proclaimed, officially at the JTA’s 60th annual conference in Trelawny, in August.

Mr. Malabver has expressed gratitude to his colleagues who elected him.
