Yaksta has repurposed his 2O21 breakthrough song, Ambition into a dubplate supporting PNP South West St Ann candidate, Danishka Williams.

A TikTok video shared by the newly installed PNP candidate, highlights Yaksta dressed in an orange t-shirt engraved with an image of the opposition leader. His intro for the dub refers to Williams as the best man for the plan, despite her being a woman. The dub continues to endorse William’s candidacy,  promoting among other things, farming over flossing and her ability to get the job done .

William’s caption while expressing gratitude to Yaksta for providing the first dub of the campaign, credits farming as being the backbone in the constituency, noting that neither constituency nor country can be transformed without farmers.

Released in early 2021, Ambition was produced by Marlon Easy and Afro Boi Entertainment. In 2022 it copped the JaRIA Song of the Year Award for 2021. The track also led to him being named New Artiste of The Year 2021 and Singjay of The Year 2021 in the IRIE FM 2022 Music Awards.

In a 2022 Rolling Stone feature, paying homage to the evolution of Jamaica’s music throughout its then 60 years of independence, Ambition was selected as the song for 2021.  To date, Ambition has racked up 18 million views on YouTube.
