Mayor of St Ann’s Bay Sydney Stewart says in the coming weeks, works will be carried out on several markets across St. Ann.

Among these he notes, is the Ocho Rios market.

He says there have been several complaints about the poor condition of the facility.

A number of these complaints have come from vendors about the bathrooms, which are reportedly in a dilapidated state.

Speaking to Irie Fm News recently, Mayor Stewart said works will begin in short order, to improve the condition of the Ocho Rios market, among others.

He said the works will also be extended to other infrastructure within the parish, such as the Ocho Rios Transport Centre.

However, Mayor Stewart said while these projects are being embarked on, there are some difficulties being faced by the municipal corporation.

One such issue is illegal water and electricity connections.
