Workers at Discovery Bauxite Operations formerly Noranda in St. Ann are reportedly restive.

The employees are threatening to take industrial action if issues relating to wages and statutory deductions are not resolved.

IRIE FM News understands that the workers were agitating to implement a go-slow, as they are reportedly upset that for the past 2 years, monies deducted for insurance, pension and other benefits, were not paid over to the relevant entities. 

The workers are represented by the University and Allied Workers Union (UAWU).

UAWU President Lambert Brown said a meeting is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. today between the union and management to discuss the issue.
