Work is underway to restore normalcy to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) which has been encountering operational challenges since last week.

On Friday, the South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) stated that the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department, the main operational theatre, the recovery room and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) were facing operational issues.

Providing an update to IRIE FM News yesterday, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the KPH, Dr. Natalie Whylie explained that the problems resulted from an issue with an air conditioning unit.

She said the hospital is working with the regional maintenance team and external contractors to restore normal operations.
