Work begins today on a section of Vauxhall to Union Main Road in St. Elizabeth, which collapsed last October
The National Works Agency says a reinforced concrete box culvert is to be built to replace the collapsed steel structure, which was several decades old.
A $36 million contract has been awarded for the project, which is to be executed over the next five months.
The scope of the works will include demolition of the existing collapsed structure, steel fabrication and the construction of approach roads.
A detour road is also to be constructed.
It should be completed within 10 days and is to be used by motorists, while the new box culvert is under construction.
Persons are advised to obey posted warning signs and the instructions of flag-persons at the location.
