Windies cricketers to visit United Arab Emirates for 3 ODI Internationals in Sharjah
The West Indies cricketers will travel to the United Arab Emirates for three one day internationals in Sharjah from June 5 to 9, as part of both teams preparations for the ICC ODI qualifiers which starts on June 18 in Zimbabwe.
This will be the Windies’ final opportunity to book a place at the 10 team World Cup tournament in India.
The day-night matches will be played on Monday June 5 , Wednesday June 7 and Friday June 9 at the Sharjah Cricket stadium.
Both teams will depart for Zimbabwe at the end of the series for their world cup qualifying campaign – the tournament will confirm the remaining spots for the 10-team ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, in India.
South Africa secured the final automatic qualifying spot yesterday leaving two places to be filled at the Zimbabwe qualifiers.
Already qualified are host India, along with, New Zealand, England, Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan and South Africa.
