Windies Complete 3–0 Sweep Over Bangladesh in T20 Serie
The West Indies cricketers wrapped up a dominant performance in Chattogram, completing a clean sweep of their three-match T20 International series against Bangladesh with a convincing five-wicket victory on Friday morning.
Chasing 152 for victory, the Caribbean side cruised to their target at 152 for 5, thanks to a superb effort from stand-in captain Roston Chase, who was named Player of the Match for his composed half-century. Chase struck five fours and a six in an even 50 off 29 deliveries, anchoring a crucial 91-run fourth-wicket stand with Ackeem Auguste, whose explosive 50 from 25 balls included five towering sixes and a boundary.
Opener Amir Jangoo also contributed 34, while Bangladesh’s Rishad Hossain was the most successful bowler, claiming 3 for 43.
Earlier, Bangladesh, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, were bowled out for 151. Opener Tanzid Hasan led the way with a blistering 89, featuring nine fours and four sixes, but received little support from his teammates as the Windies’ attack struck at regular intervals.
Romario Shepherd spearheaded the bowling effort with 3 for 36, earning him the title of Player of the Series after finishing with a joint series-best tally of seven wickets. Khary Pierre and Jason Holder chipped in with two wickets apiece to keep the hosts in check.
Final scores: Bangladesh 151 all out; West Indies 152 for 5.
The emphatic 3–0 series sweep comes as a welcome boost for the West Indies, who had earlier suffered a 2–1 defeat in the preceding One Day International series.
