Williams says it is too early to comment on income tax threshold increase
Finance Minister Fayval Williams says it is too early for the government to comment on whether or not a further increase in the income tax threshold will be considered.
In April last year, the threshold was raised to $1.7M up from $1.5M.
However, there have been calls for the income tax threshold to be increased to at least $2 million.
That call was again brought to the fore by journalists at yesterday’s Post-Cabinet Press Briefing.
In response, Mrs Williams noted that though it’s expected that many things will be considered this year, it’s too early to comment on any consideration regarding the increase in the threshold.
