Wiaan Mulder ruled out of upcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies

South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match one day international series against the West Indies with a side strain.

Scans revealed a grade one side strain after the 25-year-old experienced discomfort during the just second test against the touring west Indians at the wanderers.

In the meantime, all-rounder Wayne Parnell has been named in the ODI squad as his replacement.

Tabraiz Shamsi has also been added to the squad as replacement for left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj, who ruptured his achilles tendon on the fourth day of the wanderers test when he celebrated taking the wicket of Kyle Mayers.

The first ODI bowls off on Thursday, at Buffalo Park in East London, followed by the second ODI on Saturday, March 18. 

The third and final ODI takes place on Tuesday, 21 March, at the JB marks oval in Potchefstroom. 

South Africa wrapped up the two match test series two nil, after beating the Caribbean men in the second test  on the weekend by a massive 284 runs inside  of  4  days   at  the  wanderers stadium  in  Johannesburg.
