A probe is underway into the killing of a businessman at his home and establishment in Westmoreland early this morning.

Dead is 64-year-old William Webb, otherwise called ‘Baba Roots’, of Lower Darliston.

It is understood that he is the owner of the local herbal drink brand called ‘Baba Roots.’ 

Reports from the Darliston police are that about 3:45 a.m., four armed men entered Webb’s property, held up one of his employees, demanded money and the location of Webb. 

Three of the men then entered his house and a tussle ensued between them and Webb. 

An explosion was heard, and the police were summoned. 

On arrival, Webb was seen in a sitting position with a gunshot wound to the face. 

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
