West Indies ring the changes for T20I Series against Pakistan after Australia whitewash

Following a disappointing 5-0 whitewash at the hands of Australia in the Caribbean, the West Indies have made four changes to their squad ahead of the three-match T20 International series against Pakistan, which begins tonight at the Broward County Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. First ball is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Jamaica time.

Shamar Joseph, Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, and Johnson Charles have been drafted into the 14-man squad, replacing Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Brandon King, and Shimron Hetmyer.

Alzarri Joseph has been given a break for the T20 leg of the tour in order to manage his workload, having played a key role in both the recent UK tour and the home series against Australia. The pace spearhead is expected to return later this year for a packed international schedule.

Opener Evin Lewis has been ruled out of the series due to injury and will return home to undergo further assessment and rehabilitation in preparation for the 50-over leg of the series, set to take place in Trinidad.

Middle-order batsman Shimron Hetmyer is also sidelined with a side strain he picked up during the fifth T20I against Australia in St Kitts. Similarly, Brandon King sustained a side strain in that same match and is still under evaluation to determine his availability for the upcoming ODI matches.

Despite the setback of the recent series defeat, the new-look West Indies squad will look to reset and regroup as they take on a formidable Pakistan outfit in Florida. With exciting talent such as Jewel Andrew and Jediah Blades in the mix, and experienced campaigners like Jason Holder and Romario Shepherd providing stability, the Caribbean side will be eager to bounce back with a strong showing.

West Indies Squad for the T20I Series vs Pakistan:
Shai Hope (Captain), Jewel Andrew, Alick Athanaze, Jediah Blades, Keacy Carty, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd.
