The West Indies will have to wait at least another year for a chance to reclaim the Frank Worrell Trophy, after suffering another crushing defeat at the hands of Australia in Grenada.

A disappointing batting collapse on Day 4 saw the home side slump to a 133-run loss in the second Test, handing Australia an unassailable 2-0 series lead ahead of the final match in Jamaica.

Resuming the day at 221 for 7, Australia’s innings wrapped up quickly, adding just 22 runs to their overnight total before being dismissed for 243. But their bowlers wasted no time in sealing victory.

Chasing 276 for victory, the West Indies endured a nightmare start, losing their first four wickets inside 13 overs before lunch. Despite some resistance from captain Roston Chase (34) and Shamar Joseph (24), the hosts were bowled out for 143 midway through the afternoon session.

Australia’s bowlers were once again the difference-makers, with Mitchell Starc claiming 3 for 24 and Nathan Lyon taking 3 for 42. Starc now sits just five wickets away from 400 Test scalps as he heads into his 100th Test at Sabina Park, while Lyon moved within one wicket of surpassing Glenn McGrath’s tally of 563, which would make him the second-highest wicket-taker in Australia’s Test history.
