West Indies cricketers stranded in India

The West Indies cricketers  are  unable to return home from India after their exit from the ICC Men’s  T20  World  Cup yesterday  where  they  were  beaten  by  host  India  in  their  final  super-8  match  in  Kolkota.

this  as  they  are  unable   to secure a flight to leave   the  country , with Zimbabwe reportedly in a similar situation.

Following escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel, including  missile and drone exchanges, Iran’s airspace has been closed, and internet restrictions  tightened.

Several countries issued advisories, and airlines are adjusting routes to avoid conflict zones.

At Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, around 100 flights on Monday remain cancelled to and from the Middle east and the West.

Multiple sports teams and athletes are stranded in india or at nearby transit hubs (specifically Dubai) due to airspace closures following escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, the England Lions squad are following official advice from security experts and the government while they remain unable to leave the UAE.
