Warmington and Vaz spar over statements regarding resource allocation
Embattled parliamentarian Everald Warmington on Tuesday challenged his colleague, Transport Minister Daryl Vaz about statements the minister made regarding resource allocation.
The issue stemmed from earlier comments from Mr Warmington that the People’s National Party councillor will not be getting any money from him.
During Tuesday’s meeting of the Standing Finance Committee, while Mr Vaz was responding to questions from the opposition about the budgetary allocations for his various portfolios, Mr Warmington asked the minister to distinguish between resource allocations from members of parliament versus councillors.
In response, Mr. Vaz pointed out that he does not support partisan politics.
Mr Warmington was recently axed from cabinet as the works minister following the circulation of a viral video of him making the statements which drew widespread condemnation.
