The wake in Mandela Terrace, in St Andrew last evening at which seven people were shot, three fatally was being held for an alleged gang member.
National Security Minister, Dr. Horace Chang made the revelation to IRIE FM News this morning.
Those killed yesterday are 32-year-old Derrick Goodgame, 23-year-old Kimberley Plummer and an unidentified man.
Dr. Chang described the incident as unfortunate, especially since the community was recently under a curfew.
He is urging lawmen to maintain heightened vigilance in the area, even when there appears to be calm.
