Vybz Kartel juror sentenced to 9 months imprisonment
Livingston Caine, the juror who offered a $500,000 bribe to the foreman juror in the murder trial involving dance hall artiste Vybz Kartel has been sentenced to serve nine months’ imprisonment.
The sentence was handed down by Parish Judge Maxine Ellis in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court today (March 9).
Caine was found guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
He had offered the money to the foreman of the jury for her to convince the other jurors to return a not-guilty verdict in the Kartel case.
The foreman juror reported the matter and Caine was removed from the jury and later charged.
Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, along with three other men were convicted of the August 2011 murder of Clive “lizard” Williams.
