Vaz to seek assistance from police and soldiers for JUTC in event of future service disruptions
Transport Minister Daryl Vaz has indicated that he will be seeking the assistance of the Defence and Constabulary forces in having a back up team assigned to the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) to provide extra drivers.
This in the wake of service disruption today by drivers of the JUTC following an altercation between some employees.
In a statement this afternoon, Mr. Vaz noted that following the meeting between the management of the bus company and the trade unions representing workers, the upset drivers agreed to resume normal duties.
