Vaz defends stewardship of West Portland
Government Minister and Member of Parliament for Portland Western, Daryl Vaz, is defending his stewardship of the constituency.
Speaking at a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) area council meeting at the Port Antonio High School in the parish yesterday, Mr. Vaz said both he and his wife, who is the MP for Portland Eastern have done well for the parish.
His comment comes on the heels of criticism about their performance, amidst concerns relating to a lack of water, discomfort, and dust nuisance, associated with the southern coastal highway improvement project, among other issues.
Mr. Vaz stressed, that he and his wife, have worked to improve the lives of their constituents.
He said while the Jamaica Labour Party is at a critical juncture, its MPs continue to perform well.
Mr. Vaz added that the party remains united, despite reports of alleged rifts in the ranks.
