The University of the West Indies, Mona says it has engaged with the executive of the Guild of Students about reviewing the campus’ security operations.

The meeting this afternoon followed reports of attempted robberies on the campus since last week.

The situation has prompted discussions among students and parents, especially on social media.

When probed about the matter, Campus Registrar Dr. Donovan Stanberry explained that there were two robbery attempts at Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).

He added that during this afternoon’s meeting with students, several solutions were explored to bolster their safety.
