UTASA and UTECH’s management meeting with Labour Ministry over wage-related issues
The University of Technology Administrative Staff Association (UTASA) and the institution’s management are locked in a conciliatory meeting at the Labour Ministry’s Kingston office.
The aim is to iron out issues relating to the non-payment of their retroactive salaries.
The matter which has long been a sore point for several of the university’s administrative, technical and auxiliary staff led to a strike yesterday.
The upset workers also padlocked the gate of the institution’s Kingston campus.
Speaking with IRIE FM News ahead of this morning’s meeting, UTASA’s President Jeanette Grayson said the workers will remain off the job until the matter is resolved.
