Usain Bolt watches as Sunshine Girls shine in Netball Super League
Eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt made a special appearance at the Belle Vue Arena in Manchester, where he witnessed a thrilling Netball Super League clash between Nottingham Forest and Manchester Thunder. The third-round match-up saw the home team, Manchester Thunder, emerge victorious with a commanding 81-65 win.
Bolt, whose presence was celebrated by fans and players alike, took a moment to meet the stars of the game, including Sunshine Girls Rhea Dixon and Brie Grierson. Dixon, playing as Goal Attack for Nottingham Forest, put in a valiant effort, scoring 6 goals despite her team’s loss. Meanwhile, South African Goal Shooter Elmeré van der Berg led the charge for Thunder, netting an impressive 52 goals to help her team secure the win.
With this defeat, Nottingham Forest dropped to 6th place on the league table, with 3 points from three outings. The loss marked their second defeat in three matches. On the other hand, Manchester Thunder’s triumph propelled them to 2nd place with 6 points, just 3 points behind the undefeated London Pulse.

Looking ahead, both Dixon and Grierson will return to action in Round 5 for Nottingham Forest as they prepare for a showdown against the Loughborough Lightning. The game is scheduled for Saturday, August 5, and will take place at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham.
