USA to re-evaluate travel advisory for Jamaica
The United States is expected to re-evaluate its travel advisory for Jamaica.
This was indicated by Secretary of State Marco Rubio at a press conference in Kingston today with Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness.
The last travel advisory published in July 2024 was a level 3 which urged Americans to reconsider travel to Jamaica, due to crime.
It also asked travellers to exercise increased caution regarding medical services.
The Prime Minister highlighted the progress made in crime reduction.
Meantime, Secretary Rubio, while stating that the US pledged to revisit the advisories, also acknowledged Jamaica’s progress in bringing down the murder tally.
