American-born high school track star Skyler Franklin has elected to represent Jamaica internationally.

Franklin, who has dual citizenship, is the fastest sophomore over 400m in American high school history with a personal best 51.66 seconds, 10th-best high school performance of all-time in the event.

The 16-year-old is also solid over 60m, 100m and 200 metres having personal best times of 7.46, 11.44 and 23.55 seconds respectively.

Having declared her intention to represent Jamaica the Montverde Academy standout will be aiming to wear the black, green and gold at this summer’s at the World Athletics Under 20 championships which is scheduled to take place from August 27 to 31 in Lima, Peru.
