Health and Wellness Minister Dr Christopher Tufton says there has been a further increase in Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations.

He made the statement while speaking at a post cabinet press briefing on Wednesday morning.

Dr Tufton said data indicate that daily hospitalizations have increased to 130 from 100.

As such, he said the overall occupancy level at hospitals has increased to 30% from 20% last week.

According to the minister, the general bed occupancy is at over 90% in several of the nation’s hospitals.

Dr Tufton said despite the increase in cases, deaths remain at the same level.
