Head of the Central Kingston Police Division, Superintendent Beresford Williams, said one of the six people shot and wounded along Text Lane last evening remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Close to news time, Superintendent Williams told IRIE FM News that no one has died from the incident.

He explained that three people, including the one in critical condition, remain at hospital.

He said the three others have been treated and released.

Reports are that at about 8: 45 PM, several people were sitting at a premises in the area when a motorcar approached them.

The occupants of the vehicle reportedly opened gunfire on the group before driving away.

After the shooting subsided, six people, including children, were discovered with gunshot wounds.

Last evening’s incident followed the deaths of five people, including a four-year-old girl in Linstead, St. Catherine, on Sunday.

Four others, including an 11-year-old, are being treated.
