Representatives of a United Kingdom based church have officially apologized for its involvement in slavery.

The representatives who are part of a 10-member delegation from various church denominations in the UK apologized on Sunday at a special ecumenical church service.

Reverend Tessa Robinson one of the representatives of the delegation offered the apology.

She said the church has been called to a journey of words and action
