U17 Reggae Boyz to leave for Mexico on Saturday
Jamaica’s national Under-17 Reggae Boyz are getting ready to leave the island on Saturday for Mexico where they will participate in the Torneo Del Sol football tournament.
The event scheduled for January 6-11 will be contested by sixteen teams including the Mexican under 17 national team, Trinidad & Tobago, Panama and Guatemala and will also feature clubs from Mexico’s third division.
The young Jamaicans will open their campaign on January 6 against Selection South and then face Selection North on January 7 before meeting Liga Premier team on January 8.
The squad includes goalkeepers Justin Murray and Johnoi Steadman along with defenders Jaquan Brown, Damarley Williams, Zienodean McLean, Jabar Johnson, Cai-Anthony McLean, Keiran Smith and Alexander White.
The midfield comprises Oscar Dawes, Nyron Allen, Earl Dennis, Dario White, Cadriano Marsh, Ayden McFarlane, Javaughn Anglin and Owen Jumpp while the forwards are Orell Miller, Giovanni Taylor, Jahmarie Nolan, Axel Grimaud, Nehmani McNamee-Burke, Seymour Garfield-Reid and Raequan Campbell-Dennis.
The Tourneo Del Sol is being used by the national U17 Reggae Boyz to finalize preparations for the Concacaf Under 17 World Cup qualifiers which are set to begin in Guatemala in February.
