UCASE says Guardsman security guards at US Embassy may be forced to take action over insurance-related issues

The Union of Clerical, Administrative and Supervisory Employees (U-CASE) says Guardsman security guards at the United States embassy in Kingston may be forced to take industrial action if a meeting is not held by Wednesday to resolve insurance-related issues.

In a statement this morning, U-CASE President Vincent Morrison said deductions are being taken from the workers’ salaries but are not being paid over to the respective insurance carriers on time.

He said meetings have been held with Guardsman, but the issue has not been addressed.

Mr. Morrison said if a meeting is not held by this Wednesday, July 23, the over 240 guards which U-CASE represents will have to take industrial action.
