Tyran De Lattibeudiere declares availability for Jamaica’s FIBA 2027 World Cup Pre-Qualifying Campaign

Jamaica’s basketball landscape is about to get even more exciting as 6-foot-7 forward Tyran De Lattibeudiere has officially declared his availability to join the national team for their FIBA 2027 World Cup pre-qualifying campaign. The announcement comes after De Lattibeudiere’s successful season with Start Lublin in the Polish Pro Basketball League, where he played a pivotal role in helping his team finish third in the league standings.

De Lattibeudiere will bring his considerable talents to the Jamaican squad as they gear up for the FIBA qualifiers scheduled to take place in August. His addition to the team is a significant boost for the island’s basketball aspirations as they look to secure a spot in the prestigious FIBA World Cup.

In the recently concluded Polish top-flight league season, the 33-year-old was a solid performer, averaging 14.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while shooting an impressive 57% from the field.

De Lattibeudiere’s career has seen him play professionally in several countries, including France, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Israel. His versatility and efficiency on both ends of the court will be invaluable to Jamaica as they face off against top international competition.

The former Lamar University standout will join a Jamaican roster that includes NBA stars Norman Powell of the LA Clippers and Josh Minott of the Minnesota Timberwolves along with the returning internationals Romario Gill and Kenton Facey.

Jamaica’s FIBA pre-qualifiers are set to take place in August, with matches scheduled in either Mexico or Chile. These qualifiers represent the first crucial step towards securing a place in the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
