Two students of the Lennon High School in Clarendon died in a motor vehicle crash in the vicinity of Foga Road in the parish this morning.

Their names have not yet been released.

It’s understood that several other students were injured in the crash.

One student is said to be in critical condition.

Vice Chairman of the National Road Safety Council Dr. Lucien Jones says this incident has brought to five, the number of persons who have died on the nation’s roads in less than 24 hours.

He said the incidents have threatened the hope of having under 400 road fatalities for the year.

Meantime, Minister of Education, Dr. Dana Morris Dixon said the ministry is aware of the tragic motor vehicle accident involving students from Lennon High School.

She said the regional trauma team, including grief counselors, has been dispatched to the school, and teams are also at the hospital providing support to the affected families.
