Two persons of interest named in relation to incident which left 3 men, including a soldier dead along Molynes Road in St. Andrew, this morning

Two persons of interest have been named in relation to this morning’s incident, which left three men including a soldier dead along Molynes Road in St. Andrew.

The men being sought are known only by the aliases “Mushy Gushy” and “Wizzle.”

Police believe they can assist in the investigation into the deaths of Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Private Fernando Dixon, 29-year-old Marlon Rattray and 25-year-old Shemar Foster.

Area Four Commander, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Michael Phipps said that at about 4:40 A.M., Private Dixon and four others were traveling along Molynes Road in an Audi Q3 motor car when Rattray and Foster, who were traveling on a motorcycle, opened gunfire at them.

ACP Phipps said Private Dixon succumbed to gunshot wounds while Foster and Rattray died as a result of injuries sustained when the bike collided with the motor car.

ACP Phipps said the incident is believed to be gang related.

 

He said two guns were seized following the incident.

 

ACP Phipps said 2 of the 4 passengers from the motor car were taken into custody for questioning.

He said Mushy Gushy and Wizzle may also be able to assist lawmen in their probe.

Meanwhile, the JDF says it is working closely with the police in the investigation into Private Fernando Dixon’s death.

The JDF extended condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the late Private Dixon.
