Two people were arrested following the seizure of a submachine gun, a magazine, and several rounds of ammunition in Spanish Town, St. Catherine on Saturday.

Head of the St. Catherine North division, Superintendent Hopton Nicholson says the seizures were made as lawmen conducted operations in the Spanish Town area in search of wanted men and persons of interest.

Superintendent Nicholson said the St. Catherine North C.I.B is probing the seizures.

He urged citizens to cooperate with the police as lawmen continue to pursue wanted men and illegal firearms.
