Two men were killed in separate road crashes in St. Elizabeth and St. Catherine between last night and this morning.
The names of the deceased have not been released.
In the latest incident, at around 1:00 A.M., police say a Toyota Corolla motorcar was being driven along the New Holland Main Road when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree.
It’s reported that he was thrown from the vehicle upon impact.
The lawmen were called to the scene, and he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
And at around 9:30 p.m. yesterday, police say a Honda Civic motorcar was being driven along the PJ Patterson Highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle, hit a guard rail and crashed.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Road Safety Unit says 56 people have died on the nation’s roads since the start of the year.
