Twenty-five people left homeless in Whitfield Town, Kingston, after fire destroyed their homes
Twenty-five people, most of them children, were left homeless in Whitfield Town, Kingston, after a fire destroyed their homes Wednesday night.
Councillor for the Whitfield Town Division, Eugene Kelly says the cause of the fire is not yet known, as the Jamaica fire brigade is still conducting investigations.
He says some of the persons were victims of a previous fire, last year.
One of the victims, who says he is the sole breadwinner to three children, laments that he was unable to salvage anything from the fire, for his family.
Meanwhile, Councillor Kelly says plans are in place to provide aid to the affected individuals.
