Trucked water delivered to Parry Town primary school today; classes to be held as normal tomorrow
Classes are set to proceed as usual at the Parry Town primary and infant school in St. Ann, tomorrow.
This after water was trucked to the school today.
This morning school board chairman Ian Bell told Irie F M News that the school and the surrounding community had been without water since last week Monday.
He said due to the water issue classes ended early this afternoon.
He had said if water was not provided, classes would have been suspended until next week.
When questions were posed to government officials about the issue, Irie F M News was informed that the area has been without water because of damage to a crucial pump.
The authorities said this pump will be replaced on Thursday.
Irie F M News obtained documents which showed that water was trucked to the school last Friday.
However, Mr. Bell said this was only half a load.
Water was also trucked to the school today, following media reports of the water woes.
Mr. Bell said since the school has received water, classes will be held tomorrow.
