The likelihood of the tropical wave over the island developing into a tropical depression has decreased slightly.

As a result, the potential for flash flooding across the island has also decreased.

On Monday, the MET Service said the tropical wave would begin impacting the island today.

There was a 40% chance of it developing into a depression or storm, but this has decreased to 30%.

Giving the update during a post Cabinet press briefing this morning Principal Director of the MET Services Branch, Evan Thompson said the system may weaken further.

He noted however, that there will be an increase in rainfall.
