Trinidadian politician defends Beenie Man amid Doubles controversy
Trinidadian politician Kezel Jackson is standing up for Dancehall star Beenie Man, who’s facing backlash from Trinis over his controversial comments about their beloved street food, Doubles.
Rapper Nicki Minaj and Soca legend Machel Montano are among those shading Beenie Man after his remarks on Drink Champs. Following the uproar, Beenie Man has since issued an apology.
Meanwhile, Kezel Jackson, leader of Trinidad’s ALL People Party (APP), is doubling down on Beenie Man’s comments. In an Instagram Live, she not only defended his statement but also called out Trinidadians for what she described as “superstitious practices.”
Recently, Beenie Man has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Earlier this week, his daughter Desha publicly accused him of not being a good father.
