Trelawny Police identify teen killed in suspected shark attack
The Trelawny Police have identified the teen who died in a suspected shark attack at a fishing beach in Falmouth.
He is 16-year-old, William Knibb High school student Jahmarie Reid of Racecourse District, Falmouth.
Reports are that at about 6:00 A.M., on Monday, Jahmarie left home and went fishing at sea alone.
He did not return.
At about 9:00 A.M., yesterday fishermen went in search of the teen and saw the body afloat in the water.
They alerted the police.
Officers who responded observed that Jahmarie’s body had what appeared to be shark bites.
His head and left hand were reportedly bitten off.
The body was removed from the water and taken to the morgue.
