Transport Minister Daryl Vaz is set to meet with Discovery Bay taxi associations in St. Ann tomorrow.

This follows protests by taxi operators over the lack of a designated taxi parking facility in the area.

Some taxi operators who ply the Discovery Bay to St. Ann’s Bay route protested today to register their frustration and also withdrew their service on Monday.

Minister Vaz, who will be accompanied by officials from the Transport Authority and the police will meet with the taxi operators in Discovery Bay to address concerns regarding the establishment of a designated taxi parking facility.

Speaking to IRIE FM News, Minister Vaz stated that he will be visiting the area to identify suitable land for use by the taxi operators.

The taxi operators have stated that if their demands are not met, they will escalate their protest.
